Hello! I’m so glad you found me!
I’m Daley Quinn, a former magazine beauty editor turned freelance journalist, blogger, content strategist, and business owner in New York City. I love all things beauty-related, but my passion has always been writing. I started The Daley Dose in 2019 as a place where my rejected journalism pitches lived and thrived, and now it’s grown into so much more.
On The Daley Dose, you will find reviews for different beauty products I’m loving (or those that aren’t worth the hype), as well as posts about my sobriety journey. I quit drinking alcohol in April 2022 and haven’t really looked back since. I share my alcohol-free journey to bring more awareness and acceptance of sobriety and hopefully allow readers to feel less alone. While beauty and sobriety are the biggest focus of The Daley Dose, you will also find other topics I like writing about, including food, health, fashion, travel, freelancing life, and living in NYC.
What sets me apart from other bloggers is my extensive experience working in the beauty and fashion industry as a longtime journalist. I began my career as the Editorial Assistant at Family Circle magazine (RIP) in 2014, and was promoted into the beauty and fashion department about a year or so later. After 3.5 years at Family Circle, I decided to quit and pursue a freelance career to write for more digital outlets. Since then, I’ve written beauty, health, wellness and lifestyle content for over 50 digital publications including Real Simple, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Allure, TODAY, Health, Well + Good, and many more. You can see more of my work on my portfolio website here.
When I’m not working on my blog, I’m writing articles daily for the various publications I contribute to. I interview dermatologists, estheticians, and plastic surgeons multiple times a week, and I test new products regularly, too. I attend beauty events weekly to stay informed on new product launches, and hear directly from the founders about why their product is a cut above the rest.
With TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and online searches abound, I know that the flood of information and recommendations we get every day is overwhelming, exhausting, and confusing. I want to thank you for trusting me with your beauty- and lifestyle-related purchases and questions. And if you are here for the sobriety content, I hope my journey will inspire you to keep going—it’s the best (and hardest) decision I’ve ever made.
