Lumalux Face Pro LED Light Therapy Mask Review: Everything You Need to Know About This Device
Investing in a pro LED light therapy mask isn’t just about buying the latest skincare technology. It’s about choosing a device that will actually meet your skincare needs and is one that you’ll consistently use to see the best results.
In this Lumalux Face Pro LED Light Therapy Mask review, we’ll go over what the mask is, how it works, the pros and cons of the device, whether it’s worth the price, and how to actually use it.
What Is The Lumalux Face Pro LED Light Therapy Mask?
This best-selling mask from Project E Beauty is a powerful at-home alternative to professional LED treatments. It has 5 wavelengths with a whopping 8 different combination modes. Each combination mode targets different skin concerns. The modes can help reduce signs of aging, minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, soothe irritation, reduce redness, target acne, calm sensitive skin, and improve overall skin health for total rejuvenation.
The various combination modes on the Lumalux Face Pro LED Light Therapy Mask include:
- Deep Rejuvenation Mode (Deep infrared + infrared + red light 630 + 850 + 1072nm)
- Intense Youth Boost Mode (Infrared + Deep Infrared 850 + 1072nm)
- Acne Control Mode (Blue 460nm)
- Calm and Clear Mode (Purple 460 + 630nm)

(plus a charging port I use to charge the mask)
How Does The Lumalux Face Pro LED Light Therapy Mask Work?
Different LED wavelengths target different skin concerns
This device comes with a ton of LED light and wavelength options. As mentioned above, various treatment modes are meant to target different skin concerns. This includes issues like fine lines and wrinkles, acne, redness and irritation, or boosting collagen production.
If you want to target multiple skin concerns in one day of treatment, you can use up to two treatment modes (for 3 minutes each) about 3-5 times per week. Because the Lumalux LED Face Mask is so strong, the brand doesn’t recommend exceeding more than 6 minutes per day of use.
Red light commonly supports collagen production and fine lines
There have been many studies done that prove red light therapy boosts collagen production and helps to reduce common signs of aging, like fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. You can find red light in the “Deep Rejuvenation Mode” on the Lumalux LED Face Mask. It’s the first treatment mode that appears when you turn on the device.
Blue light is often used for acne-prone skin
Blue light is a great option for treating acne. It acts on the epidermal skin layer to target acne-causing bacteria and reduce excess oil production, too. It has the shortest wavelength on the visible light spectrum, ranging from 415-470nm, with an optimal wavelength of 416 or 460nm.
Near-infrared light may support deeper skin rejuvenation if included
What’s super unique about the Lumalux Pro LED Light Therapy Mask is that the device includes near-infrared technology. This is a perk that you won’t always find in other LED light therapy masks on the market. While red light works on the surface layers of the skin to boost collagen and reduce redness, near-infrared light (850nm) penetrates deeper into the skin’s tissue to support cellular repair, improve circulation, and reduce inflammation at a deeper level.
Additionally, deep infrared (1072nm) goes even further, targeting the dermis to address deeper, more stubborn signs of aging. The LumaLux Face Pro includes both infrared (850nm) and deep infrared (1072nm) alongside red light (630nm) in its Deep Rejuvenation Mode.
Consistency is more important than treatment intensity
Like most things in life, consistency is key when it comes to actually seeing results. The brand recommends using the mask 3-5 times per week for 3- or 6-minute sessions only. Exceeding that amount of time will not provide better results and protects your skin from any potential irritation. So, rather than trying to use the mask for way too long each day, keep your sessions short and use the mask no more than 5 times per week to see the best results.
Results develop gradually over several weeks of regular use
You’ll start to see results with consistent use over the span of several weeks. That being said, I did see a difference in my skin even after the first time that I used it. I used the Deep Rejuvenation Mode and noticed that the redness in my skin had slightly reduced, even with only 3 minutes of use.

Pros Of The Lumalux Face Pro LED Light Therapy Mask
Comfortable and lightweight design
I have to be honest—I normally like to avoid LED masks that aren’t structured and don’t have a rigid outer shell because I find that the structured ones stay on my face better than the masks that are flexible and made with silicone. Amazingly, that is not the case with the Lumalux LED Mask. I’m so impressed with not only how well this stays on my face and is able to reach every surface of my skin, but also how easy it is to attach onto my head. It has a Velcro strap that’s wide and makes everything really secure. The key is to secure the mask at an upward angle on your head, so that the bottom of the mask can touch your chin.
This mask feels comfortable when I wear it around the house. And feels lightweight enough that I don’t notice it that much when I’m doing chores or using it while working on my laptop.
Easy controls and treatment modes
It took me a second to figure out how to use the device. But after I read the instructions, it was super easy to scroll through the various treatment modes and decide which combination mode would target the skin concern I wanted to treat that day. I also love that it has so many treatment modes—I’ve never tried an LED mask with so many powerful light colors in one device.
Hands-free operation
There’s nothing worse than buying an LED face mask, only to realize that you have to keep it plugged into an outlet every time you want to use it. I love that you can walk around with this device on and don’t need to be tied to one place. You can just attach the mask to your face and put the controller in your pocket (or even tucked into your bra!).
Multiple light therapy options
Again, the number of modes on this device is incredibly impressive. It offers 5 wavelengths and 8 modes and treats so many different skin concerns. You really won’t find that often with other LED light therapy masks on the market.
Rechargeable and portable
The battery on this mask lasts a pretty long time. And it’s really easy to recharge whenever you need to use it again. It’s so easy to wear around the house, and I like that the device comes with a carry bag so you can protect the mask if you want to pack it into your suitcase while traveling.
Simple to integrate into weekly skincare routines
This mask is super easy to add to your weekly skincare routine because it takes 3 minutes to complete the whole treatment. I like to hang it up on a hook in my bathroom and use it a few times a week at night, after I’ve washed and dried my face thoroughly.
Cons Of The Lumalux Face Pro LED Light Therapy Mask
Premium upfront cost
While yes, the $369 price tag on this device is a good chunk of change, it’s actually on the less expensive side compared to other competitors. You’re paying a premium price for a high-tech device that offers powerful LED light therapy and delivers on its promise of rejuvenated skin.
Requires long-term consistency
I mean, I was able to see results for redness reduction after the first time I used this, but if you’re looking for a treatment that’ll help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, boost collagen production, treat acne, and target all signs of hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone, you’re going to need to use the mask consistently to see big results.
May not fit every face shape perfectly
It’s hard for me to know if this will fit all face shapes perfectly, because I only tested it on myself. Because it’s flexible and form-fitting, I think it should do a good job of fitting on most faces. But like many LED light masks on the market, one size might not fit every face shape.
Some users may not need every treatment mode
It’s amazing that this device comes with so many different treatment modes, but you might find that you use some modes more often than others. In fact, you might even find that you don’t even use a specific mode because you don’t struggle with that specific skin concern—and that’s okay! It’s nice to know that you have the option with this pick, though.
Is The Lumalux Face Pro LED Light Therapy Mask Worth It?
Yes, I absolutely think this device is worth it—especially because the price is on the lower side for these high-end LED light therapy devices. And the number of modes you get with the Lumalux Face Pro LED Light Therapy Mask is unmatched compared to other masks on the market. That means you’re able to treat so many different skin concerns with just one device, rather than having to buy multiple devices with different light modes to treat multiple skin concerns.
My biggest worry was that this pick wasn’t going to stay on my face or slide down too easily, and that was not the case. It stayed put so well, and I found it incredibly easy to strap onto the back of my head and start the treatment fast. I also noticed that the power of the lights on the Lumalux seemed a lot brighter than some of the other LED light therapy masks I’ve tested in the past. This makes me think that this device is significantly more powerful (and therefore more effective) than other devices—even ones that are more expensive—on the market.
